Tag Your Location.
Make it easy for users to discover your content. When they discover you, they can discover Jesus!
Always use the location feature on posts and the location sticker on stories.
If you don’t want the location sticker to show on your story, simply shrink it small until it disappears.

USE Hashtags.
Use location and subject matter hashtags that are relevant to your posts/stories. Search hashtags to find relevant tags already being used.
You can even target unbelievers with “seeker” hashtags that could be relevant to your post.
Try to use a mix of popular hashtags along with less popular tags to make sure your content isn’t “lost” in popular tags and can also be found easily via less popular tags.
You can view how "popular" a tag is by typing it in your caption or in a search. The number of posts the tag has been used in will be listed under the tag name.

Consistency is key.
Choose a sustainable posting schedule and stick to it. Whether you post 1x per week or 2x per day, be consistent in how often you post.
Use the Audience tab in your Insights to see when your followers are on Instagram most.
If you don't have time to make a post during these peak hours, you can stay consistent by using a social media post scheduling app (Later, Buffer, Hootsuite) to schedule your posts in advance. These apps will publish your posts to Instagram for you at the time you've scheduled.

Note: Instagram Stories cannot be published with a scheduling app. Stories must be posted manually.
Value check.
No amount of posting or tagging can make up for bad content. Quality control is key to putting out content that resonates with your audience and represents your brand consistently. Post high quality photos and well-designed graphics.
If your church doesn't have access to these resources, using high resolution phone pictures edited with an app (VSCO, Mastin, Tezza) and create graphics with free design apps (Canva, Adobe Spark, Over) can help.
Use these 4 value categories to guide your content creation: educate, entertain, engage, inspire . Your content should do at least one of those things, even if you are promoting an event or making an "ask" (give online, subscribe to online streaming, etc.).

Be "social".
Sounds simple, right? However, many accounts this important part of reaching new users on Instagram.
Comment on posts from other accounts that share a similar audience. Share relevant posts from other accounts to your Instagram story.
Respond to all DMs comments on your posts quickly. Use sentences of 6 words or more. Be conversational in your responses.
Instagram rewards social behavior and will show your content to more of your followers as you continue to be "social" on the app.
